Etched Court · Website & closed alpha
Terms of use.
Information about using this website, requesting an alpha invitation, and taking part in early testing.
Last updated:
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Etched Court is developed by Benum Labs AS, a Norwegian company with organisation number 837 864 992. You can contact us at contact@benumlabs.com or visit benumlabs.com.
These terms describe use of etchedcourt.com and the closed alpha signup process. If you receive an invitation to test the game, the invitation will explain access and any additional terms that require your agreement before participation. This page does not create a purchase, subscription, or right to a game account.
2. Using the website
You may browse the site, learn about the game, and request an alpha invitation. Please use the site lawfully. Do not submit someone else’s email without their permission, send spam through our forms, attempt unauthorised access, or interfere with the site’s operation. Responsible reports about security issues are welcome at our contact address.
Public pages may be linked to and indexed by search engines. References to Hero Academy, Outwitters, and other games acknowledge their influence; they do not indicate an affiliation with or endorsement by their developers.
3. Alpha signup and invitations
Joining the alpha list is free. A signup records your interest and preferred platform; it does not guarantee selection, immediate access, a release date, or availability on that platform. We invite testers as places become available.
The signup form separately asks for your consent to receive alpha invitations and testing updates. You can withdraw that consent and leave the list by emailing us. The privacy notice explains how signup information is handled. These terms do not provide consent for unrelated marketing.
4. What to expect from an alpha
Etched Court is in development. Alpha builds can contain bugs, incomplete features, balance changes, and interruptions. Test progress or matches may need to be reset between builds. Features shown in development images or described as planned may change before release.
We will explain known limitations and relevant testing conditions when providing access. Please report problems and avoid relying on alpha progress being carried into a future release. Nothing in this section removes rights you have under applicable law.
5. Fair play and test access
If invited, use the access provided for its stated testing purpose. Keep private access credentials private, treat other testers respectfully, and do not cheat, exploit access to other players’ information, disrupt matches, or bypass access controls.
We may restrict test access where reasonably necessary to address misuse, protect other players or the service, or carry out maintenance and testing. If you think access was restricted in error, contact us so we can review it. Where practical, we will explain the reason and give notice of planned testing interruptions.
6. Game materials and feedback
The game, website, branding, and other materials are provided by Benum Labs or their respective rights holders. Access does not give you permission to resell the game, redistribute private builds or credentials, or present yourself as an official representative. Rights and uses permitted by law remain unaffected.
You may link to the public site and share its publicly available screenshots with credit to Etched Court. Any restrictions specific to a private test will be explained before you agree to join that test.
If you voluntarily send ideas or feedback about the game, we may use those suggestions to improve it. Please avoid including confidential information belonging to someone else. Sending feedback does not commit you to further work or promise payment, and does not transfer ownership of unrelated materials you provide.
7. Future releases and purchases
The launch plan includes free factions and optional paid faction unlocks. The final roster, prices, platforms, and release date have not been announced. Joining the alpha list does not place an order or authorise a charge.
If purchases are offered later, the applicable price, product details, payment conditions, and consumer information will be presented before purchase. These website and signup terms do not replace those purchase conditions or any mandatory refund or cancellation rights.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update this page as the website and testing programme develop. The date above identifies the current version. Changes will not retrospectively remove rights or alter an existing purchase. If a material change affects an ongoing test, we will explain it to affected testers and request agreement where required.
9. Your rights and resolving concerns
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits consumer rights, privacy rights, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Norwegian law applies subject to any mandatory protections available under the law that applies to you as a consumer. These terms do not require you to give up access to a court or complaint body available under applicable law.
Please contact contact@benumlabs.com first if you have a question or complaint, so we can try to resolve it. You can also contact the relevant consumer authority or dispute-resolution body in your country. In Norway, Forbrukertilsynet provides information about consumer complaints and mediation.
